Gemotions

The world was a hazy blur. He couldn’t seem to concentrate. Even simple things felt complex. The weight of it all was crushing. He wanted only for everything to stop.

His partner, Emily, had been acting strangely recently. She was often on her phone, going into other rooms to take calls. He hadn’t thought too much of it, until recently.

He heard her, again, in the bathroom. He gently knocked. No response. He opened the door, tentatively. Emily was there, the phone pressed against her ear. She turned, her face a mask of shock. The phone dropped.
